Redefining Success

Contrary to popular opinion or "pop culture", success is not defined by things and stuff, or the latest and the greatest; let alone how many Twitter followers or Facebook friends you have. If that were true then why are so many with popularity and millions of dollars committing suicide? True success is defined by knowing God and fulfilling the original destiny, purpose, and intent that He placed you here on earth for. That's right, everyone was placed on earth for a good purpose and intent by God the Creator.  Unfortunately, many will not see or actualize that good purpose and destiny because they are listening to and believing the wrong definition of success instead of what God defines success as; which is the intentional practice of obeying the instructions for living that are in the Word of God. Joshua 1:8 says, " Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do". You get it now, success is only defined by the progress you make when you obey God and His plan for your life.

When you stop focusing on how fast someone is going or what they have that you may want, then you will see just how far you've progressed because your progress is the success.  Don't get me wrong, I get it, sometimes it's hard to see the beauty of the forest because of the bombardment of the tress. I know I've been in your shoes more times than I care to remember, being in such a hurry to see "the manifestation" that I forget that God is working behind the scenes bringing it all together in the most perfect way and time for me. But then, I had to stop and remind myself that faith must have her perfect work, so when I get what God has for me it is fully ready and so am I. So what, the "big thing" hasn't manifested yet but every step towards and forward is a victory to celebrate. Celebrate life, good health, friends and family that love you, and even more so, celebrate the God that never counted you out but always counted you in. Celebrate the God that declared before you were born that with Him you'll always win!

Here's a prayer for you:

Lord, I thank You for every promise that You have made concerning my life. I thank You that You are faithful to Your own word. Therefore, You will bring those promises to pass in the most expedient ways and time possible for me. So I will obey everything you tell me to do and then I will relax and trust "the how" that they are going to come to pass to You!
In Jesus' name. Amen.
